I just completed my first Discovery parkrun!

 

Most people are friendly, while the rest take the combined choice of a 5km run, jog or walk very seriously 🤣 Because Discovery Health sponsors this free event, there's no prizes, other than water for your dog at certain water points. The event is timed & there's a point system in place once your registered, but if your like me that spent the last 3 years walking solo while looking out for a dog walking event or a safe & fun social opportunity to get exercise with my dog, this was the place to be! As a novice, I thoroughly enjoyed it! 

Results are posted within the week but my guestimate result for PO234 was ready as 48min18sec for the 5km (9,66min per km / 9min39.6sec per km) but I can't remember how close or how far I finished from the entrants behind or in front of me as I was trying to catch my breath while looking around for water for my dog, who was 8th out of 10 dogs 😅
