LDV posted something interesting about silver medalist (13th lady) Lelanie van Zyl's training methods.
"Lelanie van Zyl who was 13th lady overall and silver ran nothing but nothing longer than 2 marathons this year - February in Durban and 1 May Wally hayward - that was it - you can do that can't you? Two marathons and a lot of quality training can see you finish successfully in Durban next year. Remember every 4km hard quality work equates to times 4 or 5 of easy long run; So if you do 4km of hard hill sprints today or a 4km very hard TT, that is equivalent to a very easy longrun and in less the time it takes to do a longrun. - so which one would you do? Do 3 x 4km hard quality stuff a week (every other day) and 2 longruns and you will be fine! Put your mind to it!
